COURSE DESCRIPTION: This 10.5 hour course is suitable for both first-timers and for those who have prior experience. This course is focussed on developing a range of hand-building skills while constructing 3D works in clay, using a variety of hand-building techniques ranging from simple pinching and coiling, to slab construction using a range of methods and decorative techniques.
We will also explore a variety of surface treatments on damp clay, including relief carving, stamping, slip trailing, and sgraffito decoration using underglaze.
Participants should be able to complete anywhere from four to eight pieces during the workshop. When the final glaze firing is complete, participants will be notified of the pick-up date and time.
The glazing is done during the fourth and final session and participants can choose from a variety of glazes to finish their pieces. When the final glaze firing is complete, participants will be notified of the pick-up date and time.
Price: $299. plus 5% gst., total $313.95 All clay, glazes and firings are included. Adult ages 18 and up. Maximum 8 participants per session.
